Our concern for the environment is a priority; therefore, we constantly invest in research and development, clean technologies, and the improvement of production processes. We strive to minimize industrial waste and maximize the reuse of internal scraps and discards by reintegrating them into the production process to create new products that maintain their quality and suitability for food contact.

For our PET products, we use certified post-consumer raw materials. This raw material is produced from bottles and containers collected by Ecopet-CristalPET (the Uruguayan subsidiary of Grupo Envases México) through an inclusive plan that covers the entire process—from collecting used containers to sorting, washing, producing food-grade flakes, and pelletizing them into certified raw material.

We are committed to sustainable development, utilizing and developing technologies that protect the environment.

All our business units have been designed based on sustainability criteria, prioritizing the design and development of processes and products, the rationalization of raw materials and energy, and occupational safety.

All the raw materials we use and the products we provide are 100% recyclable.

1.

Propack is the only thermoformed packaging company in Uruguay that has an operational circular economy plan, producing food-grade products made with up to 100% PCR (post-consumer recycled) material.

2.

Post-consumer PET bottles and containers arrive at the processing plant in bales sorted by material, collected through a socially inclusive plan.

3.

The material is entered into the re-sorting area and undergoes a process of multiple washes and grinding, removing impurities and dirt through a highly efficient and thorough filtering and washing process.

4.

The washed, clean, and ground PET material into small pieces passes through a drying system and a state-of-the-art system that analyzes the material, classifying it into perfectly pure material and reprocessing it until any impurities are completely removed.

5.

The material undergoes a special transformation process into pellets, during which it is ensured to comply with all international standards for food and beverage contact suitability. This procedure guarantees that the material is completely safe and suitable for use in the food industry.
